Principle and Characteristic of Plant Growth Lamp

Light environment is one of the indispensable physical environmental factors for plant growth and development. It is an important technology in the field of facility cultivation to control plant morphogenesis through light quality regulation.
 
Only by scientifically choosing light sources can we better grasp the speed and quality of plant growth. When using artificial light sources, we must choose the natural light which is closest to the photosynthetic conditions of plants. Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) was measured to determine the photosynthetic rate and efficiency of plant photosynthesis. Photosynthetic active photon light initiated plant photosynthesis in chloroplast, including light reaction and dark reaction.

 
Plant growth lamps should have the following characteristics:
 
1. Converting electric energy into radiation energy with high efficiency.
 
2. Achieve high radiation intensity, especially low infrared radiation (thermal radiation) within the effective range of photosynthesis.
 
3. The radiation spectrum of the light bulb meets the physiological requirements of plants, especially in the effective spectral region of photosynthesis.
